How
many hours can I be connected to the Internet?
The
answer to that question depends on the type of dialup package you
choose.
• Timed accounts offer you a limited amount of access to the
Internet per month. Choose between our 25 hours per month plan or
our 60 hours per month plan, according to your needs.
• Our Unlimited account offers you an unlimited number of
hours of active access to the Internet per month. Active access
is defined as you, the account owner, continually inputting and
receiving data. Using non-sentient methods, such as frequent automated
e-mail checks, to keep a connection active while you are not interacting
with the session, is not permitted. Customers who require near continual
connectivity to the Internet or who need to maintain a pattern of
very frequent automated e-mail checks, must necessarily opt for
our Dedicated Access Account.
• Webjogger’s Dedicated accounts offer you a truly 24x7
connection to the Internet.

 What
is the difference between an Unlimited account and a Dedicated account?
Webjogger’s
Unlimited account offers you an unlimited number of hours of active
access to the Internet per month. Active access is defined as you,
the account owner, continually inputting and receiving data. Using
non-sentient methods, such as frequent automated e-mail checks,
to keep a connection active while you are not interacting with the
session, is not permitted under this account plan.
Customers who require near continual connectivity to the Internet
or who need to maintain a pattern of very frequent automated e-mail
checks, must necessarily opt for our Dedicated Access Account. This
plan offers a truly 24x7 connection to the Internet.

Do
you disconnect me if I go over my monthly hours?
No,
Webjogger will not disconnect you if you exceed your monthly allotted
usage. Rather, our billing software monitors your time on line,
and levies a charge of $1 per hour of overusage, with periods of
less than an hour being charged proportionately. If these charges
prove significant, and you wish to change retroactively to a higher
plan, paying the difference and continuing with the higher plan
afterwards, we will on good faith adjust the bill for you.
Do
you offer a discount for pre-payment?
Yes,
for our dial-up accounts we do offer a discount! You get 12 months
access by pre-paying for 11 months. Visit our rates
page for more details. There are no discounts for pre-paying
for 2, 3 or 6 months, etc., but you are certainly welcome to do
so if you find that more convenient.
If
I pre-pay annually for the 25 hour or 60 hours plan, can I upgrade
to a higher plan if I need more time on line?
Yes,
we will calculate a prorated charge for the difference in costs
of the two plans for the time remaining on your pre-paid service
period. This can also be arranged with you retroactively, if you
receive significant $1/hour charges for going over the 25 or 60
hour per month limits.

How
fast will my connection be with Webjogger?
All
of Webjogger’s dialup modems are V.90 compliant. Theoretically,
this means that you should see download speeds of up to 56kbps.
However, the FCC limits the legal speed on the telephone network
to 53kbps, and speeds can also vary considerably due to your particular
phone line conditions and the type of modem you are using. In general,
download speeds average between 40kbps and 53kbps.
Although your speed is limited by your modem and by the condition
of your phone line, Webjogger offers a dialup accelerator that can
increase your browsing speeds by five times depending on the type
of pages you visit. Click here to
find out more.

Does
Webjogger support V92 compliant modems? What is the difference between
V92 and V90 compliant modems?
All of Webjogger’s modems are V.90 compliant, and a large
percentage are V.92 compliant as well. Click
here to determine whether your local access number supports
V.92 technology.
V.92 modems provide three major advantages over V.90 modems. V92
modems give you better upload speeds to complement the 56 kilobits
per second (Kbps) downstream rate; significantly shorten the time
it takes to dialup and connect to the Internet; and more effectively
share a data line with voice functionality which enables you to
have call waiting, also called modem on hold (MoH). This allows
the data connection be placed on hold so you can answer incoming
calls (for call waiting, you must have the service enabled with
the phone company as well as software specifically designed for
that service).
Will
you disconnect me from the Internet if I leave my computer on?
By
default, Webjogger will disconnect your computer from the Internet
if you have not sent or received any data for 20 minutes.
How
many computers can I connect with my dialup connection?
You
can connect to the Internet using your Webjogger user name and password
from an unlimited number of computers, but only one computer can
be connected at any given time. If you wish to connect more than
one computer to the Internet at one time, you must connect your
computers together into a Local Area Network (LAN).
Can
I use my Yahoo, Hotmail or Eudora email address with my Webjogger
service?
Absolutely.
Are
there additional charges for setting up a junk-email filter?
Webjogger
offers free spam filtering on every one of its email addresses.
Our convenient system allows you to adjust the stringency of your
spam filters and even log into a personal message center, if desired,
to find out exactly what was filtered. If something was filtered
that shouldn’t have been, you can then choose to deliver that
particular message to your inbox.
Do
you scan my email for viruses?
Yes.
This service is 100% free and helps protect your computer from the
ever-increasing threat of viruses. Although Webjogger’s anti-virus
system is highly robust and effective, however, we continue to recommend
that you install anti-virus software on your computer and keep it
updated on a regular basis to maximize your immunity against viruses.

Do
you offer technical support if my connection or my email are not
working?

How
does Webjogger Accelerated Dialup work?
Webjogger
Accelerated Dialup speeds up the Internet through proprietary text
and image compression, content caching and other network optimizations.
Webjogger Accelerated Dialup significantly speeds up web page access.
To achieve this speed increase, proprietary lossless compression
is applied to text, html, xml, javascript and style sheets. Proprietary
image compression is applied to gif images, jpeg images and Flash
content. The accelerator also accelerates email traffic (POP3 and
SMTP) using lossless compression. It does NOT speed up file downloads
(over FTP or file sharing programs), streaming audio/video or HTTPS
(secure web sites).
Will
Webjogger Accelerated Dialup speed up everything I do on the web?

Accelerated Dialup accelerates certain text and graphics on web
pages. With Webjogger Accelerated Dialup, you will notice a significantly
