Highspeed
Wireless FAQ
How
do Highspeed Wireless Internet speeds compare with cable or DSL?
Wireless
communications can reach speeds as fast or faster than wired services.
Our common connections support up to 1.5 Mbps (or 1,500 kbps, up
and down). We can establish point-to-point communications to support
up to 720 Mbps (720,000 kbps).

Is
Highspeed Wireless internet faster on the download than on the upload?
This
is not a limitation (as it is on satellite, for example); rather,
the good news is that the same high speeds can be achieved for both
download and upload.

Is
Highspeed Wireless Internet unreliable when it rains or snows?
On
the contrary, it is exceptionally reliable. Webjogger's highspeed
Wireless Internet service utilizes the 2.4 Ghz and 5.8 Ghz spectrums.
The reliability of data transfer in these frequencies is not diminished
by fog, rain, snow, or solar flares when the wireless equipment
is properly installed.

Do
I have to wait a long time before I can get highspeed Wireless Internet
service hooked up?
Highspeed
Wireless Internet is available to you right now if you have partial
or complete line of sight to a Webjogger repeater. Once ordered,
service can be installed in most cases within one or two days.

Is
Highspeed Wireless Internet more expensive than conventional dedicated
Internet access (fractional T1's, etc.)?
Webjogger's
highspeed Wireless Internet service is less expensive than conventional
land-line bandwidth (for example fractional T1's, full T1's, T3's,
etc.), because highspeed Wireless Internet does not have local loop
charges. For this reason, wireless is the technology of choice for
point-to-point connections.

Does
Highspeed Wireless Internet need cellular towers to work?
No.
Although wireless services can be and sometimes are deployed on
towers, Webjogger Wireless Internet utilizes access points and antennas
which do not need to be deployed on cell towers. In fact, we'd much
rather use existing tall structures, tall buildings, water towers
and tall roofs since it is more economical and more scenic-friendly.
Also, we are not a cellular phone company, and don't have large
enough budgets to attempt to erect towers. Typical, relatively inconspicuous
antennas on our wireless POPs (Points of Presence) weigh an average
of 6 lbs., with average dimensions of 30" x 8" x 8".

Are
there health hazards associated with Highspeed Wireless Internet?
No,
Wireless broadband access has no known associated health hazards.
The radio technologies and frequencies we deploy, Spread Spectrum
2.4 and 5.8 Ghz, are used in hospitals and home cordless phones.
Our radios produce 6 (six) times less milliwatt output power than
a regular cell phone.

Are
special permits and licenses required to deploy High Speed Wireless
connections?
No,
these unlicensed frequencies do not require the issue of licenses
or permits by the FCC (Federal Commission of Communications). It
is for this reason they are called "unlicensed." These
are the same frequencies that countless users are deploying in their
indoor wireless networks and for building-to-building LAN and WAN
(local area network and wide area network) connectivity.

How
secure is Highspeed Wireless Internet?
The
wireless connections on our network are secure. Security on any
network depends on the level of security that is built into it.
We have enabled our radios, switches, routers and firewalls to give
our customers a very high level of security. Nevertheless, we do
also strongly recommend the installation of firewall/routers on
the customer's end, as an additional security for always-on internet
connections.

Can
